McLernons, our pharmacy customers and Covid 19

Message from Keith McLernon, Managing Director

Dear Customers

The world-wide COVID-19 health crisis means that these are exceptionally challenging times for you as individuals, pharmacists and business owners and the entire team at McLernons is doing everything we can to support you.

We understand the huge pressures that community pharmacy have faced in the past few months, and the continuing demands that customer expectations and staff shortages will have on your business and your own wellbeing.

Please be assured that everyone at McLernons is working hard to support you as we have always done – albeit in new and different ways in some instances.

Like you, the health and safety of our own staff are of our paramount importance in the next few months, and we have introduced new measures to ensure that we follow best practice, both for our sake and the sake of your own teams, in areas such as hygiene, social distancing, etc.

Our engineers are still answering emergency call outs and installing and replacing hardware where needed. They may take a little longer to get to you if your own local engineer is unwell or self-isolating but be assured we are doing everything we can to get to your pharmacy if the issue cannot be resolved remotely.

Our Customer Services team have all been empowered to work from home, using encrypted systems and secure VPNs, and their levels of service are as normal. We would ask customers ‘phoning in to please leave a message if their call isn’t answered. These messages are monitored and checked throughout the day, and someone will call you back.

The team of trainers can offer on-line training if you need a bit of extra assistance on our existing software, such as text messaging from MPS, or if you have recently been licenced for a new module, such as queuing.

As for McLernons, the team of Directors and I have put in place risk mitigation measures which we believe will ensure that we will continue to operate in the weeks and months ahead.

Finally, we will continue to only send emails which we believe to bring benefit to your business – such as our recent ‘can we help?’ advisory email, advising of the software modules and mobile apps which we truly believe could help you manage your workload in these times of unparalleled uncertainty.

Thank you for all the work that you are doing for your communities.

Keith McLernon
